Essex Senior League & EOFL round-up (22.10.17)

Written by Scott W  (Twitter:@ScottMHC14)

Hello & welcome to the round-up of this weekend’s reduced fixture list in the Essex Senior League, also featuring an extended look at the Essex Olympian League with results from the Premier Division down to Division Two plus the updated EOFL tables & results from the Anagram Records Trophy. How did your side do this weekend? Enjoy.

Saturday 21th October

Southend Manor   2 – 0     Wadham Lodge

Venue: Southchurch Park    |   Attendance: 60

Manor continued their recent revival with victory over Wadham at Southchurch Park. A second-half brace from forward Bayley Newell did the job for Stuart Marshall’s side who rise to 14th in the table now. Wadham have to shrug off their poor record away from Kitchener Road, they’ve lost every one of seven away matches in the ESL thus far.

Sporting Bengal Utd   2 – 3    Barkingside

Venue: Mile End Stadium   |    Attendance: 20

‘Side struck late to grab all three points at Mile End. Chid Onokwai put Michael Walther’s side ahead after 12 minutes before Tony Cookey doubled the visitors’ lead on 34 minutes. Bengal responded well with goals from Oscar Mendes and David Vaughan though substitute Michael Ogboin’s winner two minutes from time saw Barkingside record the win and they go into 11th place in the table.

West Essex   1 – 0   Stansted

Venue: Mayesbrook Park      |      Attendance: 23

West Essex ended a four-match winless streak with a slender victory at Mayesbrook Park. Isaac Marfo got the only goal of the match just before the hour mark to send the hosts back up to third spot. The Airportmen’s third loss in their last five league matches sees them reside in 12th place.

The full round-up of ESL action returns next week.

I'm a Mental Health survivor (been surviving for years) & campaigner. I also like Music & Sport. This blog is centred on all things Non-League Football, mainly Match Reports of matches I've seen (mainly Essex Senior League (ESL) but also other Leagues) though it also houses the regular round-up's of the ESL action plus the Essex Olympian League divisions regularly. It also has the odd post about the scary world that we're all in, talking from a Mental Health perspective. Thank you for reading.
