Round-up: Essex Olympian League (Sat 17th Nov) [EOFL 19.11.18]

Hello and welcome to this week’s Essex Olympian League round-up, including all the League action from Premier Division to Division Three plus the results from various Cup competitions and EOFL Division Four. My thanks to fellow Non-League writer Scott L for his assistance with the data used in this article.

Sat 17th Nov

EOFL Premier Division

In the top-tier,  there was only two matches due to Cup action though we still saw nine goals. Canning Town defeated Springfield 4 – 1 in Beckton. Reece Morgan’s brace plus strikes from Carlos Garcia and Joe Hall saw Canning up to fifth spot. Springfield’s goal came via Jack Mundy though they stay in ninth. Hutton won 3 – 1 at home to Sungate as Chris Rowlatt’s goal was added to by a brace by substitute Brad Freeman. Reece Simpson responded for Sungate though they are winless in six matches now. Hutton are up to sixth.

EOFL Senior Div One

In Olympian Division One, Snaresbrook maintained top spot with a 2 – 1 triumph at bottom side May & Baker EC Reserves. Strikes from Tyriquee Solomon and Michael Ikotun saw the visitors to their eighth win in nine matches. Shenfield AFC arguably had the win of the day in Senior One with a 5 – 0 success at Old Chelmsfordians. Jordan Elliot’s double plus goals from Sam Lock, Mitch Day and Ben Absolon saw AFC to their third straight win and they fortify third spot. Rayleigh Town’s Ressies won 2 – 1 at second-placed Ramsden Scotia thanks to goals from James Nottage and Oliver Ventura. Ramsden responded through Richard Bishop though the visitors ended a four-match winless run here.

Meanwhile, Frenford Reserves won 2 – 1 over Galleywood thanks to goals by George Fairhead and Harry Payne. Harry Bond got ‘Wood’s consolation as Frenford’s Ressies went above their opponents into seventh spot. Herongate Athletic got their second win of the season with a 3 – 1 success over Ongar Town.

EOFL Snr Div Two

In Senior Division Two, Lakeside made it another torrid day for bottom side May & Baker ‘A’ as the hosts won 11 – 0 as Drew Klessa-Smith got a five-goal haul with Sam Pettit also notching a hat-trick and Ryan Clark, Luke Quinton and substitute Charlie Ashpole also netting.

Beacon Hill Rovers won 3 – 1 at Newham Utd as strikes by Rene Bearman, Tyson Browning and Mat Kosinski saw them to a good three points. Runwell Sports narrowly won 1 – 0 at home to Chingford Athletic with Jordan Gregory getting the only goal to see Sports to third spot, level on points with Shoebury Town and Harold Wood Athletic Ressies. The latter two played on Saturday as Shoebury won 3 – 1 at Harold Wood Rec. Dom Binns helped his side’s cause with a double and Scott Clark also notched a goal.

Toby are three points clear at the summit after James Coleman’s effort saw them to a 1 – 0 away win at Upminster. Rochford Town hit seven past Ryan in a 7 – 2 home triumph. Braces for Tyler Fowles and Jason Patmore were added to by Ashley Fowles, Grany Lye and Valentine Tyrell to cap a super day for them.

 

EOFL Snr Div Three

In Senior Three, a Tom Adams brace was largely to thank for Old Southendian Ressies’ 2 – 0 home win over Roydon while Wakering Sports got the better of Academy Soccer 3 – 1 at Cupids. Francis Alinc’s brace was supplemented by Daniel Jones’ goal and Academy’s Marc Porter-Brown got their only goal.

Basildon Town Ressies got their first win of the season, with a 4 – 0 success over White Ensign Res at the Len Forge Centre. A double for Jake Bridgeman and strikes for Scott Cooper and Joseph Fogarty sealed a fine away day for Bas. Finally for D3, Westhamians extended their lead to seven points at the top by powering past Old Chelmsfordians Res 5 – 0. Two goals for Lewis Lawrence plus one each for Danny Dobson, Kenny Liddiard and Andy Hunter saw the hosts to their 7th win in eight matches thus far.

Round-up: Essex Olympian League (and Essex Alliance Lge Rs – Sat 8th Sept) [EOFL & EAL 9.9.18)

Hello and welcome to my round-up of this weekend’s Essex Olympian League action in the top four tiers plus results from the Senior League Cup action and the second weekend of the Essex Alliance League action as well. Thanks for reading.

 

EOFL Premier Division

In a full programme of Essex Olympian League Premier action, Kelvedon Hatch arguably got the stand-out result with a 5 – 1 win at Hutton. Steve Barlex, Dan Gillard, Anthony Aylett, Andy Edmunds and an OG secured an excellent day at the office for the visitors.

Elsewhere, another brace from Steve Townsend assisted Buckhurst Hill to another victory, this time at home to Springfield. Steve Sollosi got the other goal as Hill got their fourth straight win. Harold Wood Athletic won 3 – 1 at Old Southendian with Charlie Liddiard, Ade Onileyan and Robert Whitnell all finding the net.

Meanwhile, Great Baddow got their first win of the league season, winning 3 – 2 over Leigh Ramblers. Nav Arain’s double plus a strike from Ben Cross sealed the points, with Harry Hansom and Andrew Webster scoring for Ramblers who saw their 100% start to the season end here.

Sungate also won 3 – 2, at home to local rivals to Manford Way. Jack Clarke’s brace and a Bobbie Port goal saw the the hosts win their second win in three games. Manford have lost all four matches thus far this term.

Finally in the top tier, Bishop’s Stortford Swifts were held 1 – 1 by Catholic Utd. Mark Nougher scored for Swifts, while Mike Sammut levelled for the Super Hoops. Rayleigh Town battled to a goal-less draw at Canning Town.

 

EOFL Division One

In Senior Division One, four matches took place which saw all four home sides emerging with victories. Basildon Town won 3 – 0 against Herongate Athletic with a double from Sener Suari and a Alex Witham strike seeing Town to their second straight league win. Rayleigh Town Reserves defeated May & Baker Reserves 4 – 1 thanks to two goals from Max Jones plus one goal each from Matt Seago and Jimmy Nottage.

Elsewhere, Ramsden Scotia won 3 – 0 against FC Hamlets while Snaresbrook beat Shenfield AFC 1 – 0, with the solitary goal coming from Tyrique Solomon.

 

Senior Division Two

Next, in Senior Division Two, three matches saw 13 goals scored. Seven of those came as Upminster handed May & a Baker ‘A’ a heavy 7 – 0 home loss while Newham Utd beat Ryan 3 – 0 thanks largely to Lamar Obinkwo’s double plus one from Richard Boah.

Finally, Harold Wood Athletic Reserves won 2 – 1 against Beacon Hill Rovers with Mike Burton and Tom Lamb the scorers for Ath.

 

Division Three

In EOFL Division Three, three matches also saw 13 goals in them. Westhamians got an impressive 6 – 0 away-day win at Wakering Sports with Ben Jones claiming a hat-trick plus goals from Dave Gornall, Lewis Lawrence and Ben O’Brien adding to the gloss on the score-sheet.

Hutton Reserves edged Basildon Town Reserves 1 – 0 thanks to Carl Dutton’s strike and Old Southend Reserves were held 3 – 3 by Leigh Town.

Round-up: Essex Olympian League (Sat 25.8.18) [EOFL 27.8.18]

Hello and welcome to the return of the Essex Olympian League round-up’s for the 2018-19 season. This season we will (as much as possible) go through the Results and more from the Premier Division, all the way to Senior Division Three.

We start with the first weekend of action in all four divisions – Saturday 25th August.

EOFL Premier Division

Bishop’s Stortford Swifts H – W  Great Baddow (Home walkover – Baddow couldn’t raise an XI)

In the ation that did go ahead, newcomers Buckhurst Hill continued their excellent start to the campaign with a 3 – 1 win over Catholic Utd. Richard Akinlade’s brace and Steve Townsend’s goal sealed Hill’s second straight win. Utd start with a defeat though Thomas Kearney got their goal.

Elsewhere, Canning Town defeated Old Southendian 4 – 1 thanks chiefly to a Reece Morgan hat-trick and a Beko Dushku strike. Town recorded their first success of the new term while the Southend side succumbed to their second straight loss. Leigh Ramblers recorded an impressive 2 – 0 win at Harold Wood Athletic as Harry Goodwin and Jamie Selby-Knight strikes extended Ramblers’ 100% winning start.

In the other matches in the division, Rayleigh Town held Springfield 1 – 1 while Sungate won 3 – 2 at Kelvedon Hatch and a Brad Freeman brace assisted Hutton to a 4 – 1 victory over Manford Way.

EOFL Senior Division One

In the three matches in this division that took place on its opening day, Ongar Town won 2 – 1 at FC Hamlets through goals from Ben Stone and Ben Polley. Charlie Heatly halved the arrears for the hosts though they fell to defeat.

Meanwhile, 2016/17 Senior One Champions Basildon Town recorded a very good 4 – 1 win at home to Frenford Reserves on their return to the division following their relegation from the Premier tier last term. Alfie Phillips, Jimmy Markham, Sener Suari and Jamie Miller all netted for Town. Finally, in a battle of two newly-promoted sides, Rayleigh Town Reserves dispatched Herongate Athletic 3 – 1 thanks to a double from Charlie Legg and Oliver Ventura’s additional goal.

EOFL Senior Division Two

Lakeside began the season under their new name with a comfortable 3 – 0 win over Ryan. Drew Klessa-Smith’s treble did the damage to give the hosts all three points. Meanwhile at the Rochford Recreation Ground, Rochford Town began another Senior Two campaign with a 2 – 2 draw with Newham Utd. Dave Watson struck twice for Town while Lamar Obinkwo’s double ensured a point for Newham.

Meanwhile, relegated Runwell Sports were held 3 – 3 by Upminster and in another duel of the newly-elevated sides, Chingford Athletic and Harold Wood Athletic Reserves battled to a goal-less draw.

EOFL Senior Division Three

Finally for this opening article, Division Three provided 13 goals in three matches. Leigh Town grabbed arguably the stand-out victory of the day with a 4 – 1 triumph over newcomers Wakering Sports. George Darby’s brace, Zac Mashford and Ashley Sexton set the visitors on their way to victory. Paul Wines got a consolation for Sports.

Newcomers Laindon Orient succumbed to a 2 – 3 loss to Roydon. Lewis Watson, Jordan Handscomb and Charlie Ryder goals saw the visitors to victory while goals from Rodney Sarah-Wilson and Ash Blackburn at least ensured Neil Blackburn’s side were competitive.

Elsewhere, White Ensign Reserves beat Old Chelmsfordians Reserves 2 – 1 thanks to Perry Osborne and Harry Somerset-Butler strikes. Martin Mixture netted for OC’s second team though they fell to defeat.
