Hello & welcome to my semi-regular round-up of the action in the Bostik League Premier Division here on my blog. Here’s a round-up of the action that took place on Saturday 21st October followed by the updated Bostik Premier Division table. Enjoy.

Billericay Town 2 – 1 Enfield Town

Venue: New Lodge | Attendance: 1,559

Billericay made a second-half comeback to prevail over Enfield Town at New Lodge. The visitors led on 35 minutes as Taylor McKenzie struck. ‘Ricay levelled with 18 minutes to play through substitute Billy Bricknell’s penalty. The hosts completed the recovery job six minutes from time as Sam Deering grabbed the winner to give his side their ninth straight league win. Enfield lost their first game in four in the league here.

Dorking Wanderers 3 – 2 Needham Market

Venue: London Road | Attendance: 175

Dorking resisted a late scare to triumph over the Marketmen at London Road. Lewis Taylor gave the hosts the advantage on 18 minutes. Jamie Griffiths restored parity six minutes after the re-start. James McShane restored Wanderers lead seven minutes later and had a two-goal cushion with 20 minutes remaining through Sam Beard though Griffiths’ second of the afternoon five minutes after that ensured a nervy finish for Dorking though they still secured their fifth league win of the season. Needham have lost their last four straight league matches now.

Dulwich Hamlet 3 – 2 Burgess Hill Town

Venue: Champion Hill | Attendance: 1,971

Dulwich struck late to grab all three points in another five-goal thriller at Champion Hill. Nathan Ferguson gave Hamlet the lead 11 minutes before the interval. Substitute Tony Garrod levelled for the Hillians three minutes after coming on as a half-time substitute. Dulwich re-took the lead only a minute later through Nyren Clunis though an unfortunate OG by Quade Taylor on 59 minutes made it all-square once again. Michael Chambers got the winner for the hosts with five minutes to play to secure Hamlet’s sixth win in their last seven league matches.

Harlow Town 1 – 1 Margate

Venue: The Harlow Arena | Attendance: 168

Harlow got a last-minute leveller to deny Margate the win at the Harlow Arena. The Gate led through Jay May’s opener on 31 minutes though Alex Read struck on the stroke of 90 minutes to secure a point for out-of-form Town.

Harrow Borough 1 – 2 Brightlingsea Regent

Venue: Earlsmead | Attendance: 158

Ten-man Regent secured an important win over Harrow at Earlsmead. Jake Gould put the visitors ahead 18 minutes in, before Tom Richardson doubled that advantage six minutes after the re-start. Richardson was then dismissed on the hour for two bookings and Boro’ halved the deficit only a minute later through Curtis Ujah’s goal. Regent held on though to collect their sixth league win of the campaign.

Kingstonian 2 – 1 Wingate & Finchley

Venue: Fetcham Grove | Attendance: 215

Kingstonian got an injury-time winner to break Wingate hearts at Fetcham Grove. Sam Alderson put the K’s ahead after only four minutes, though Ahmet Rifat levelled for the visitors nine minutes before the interval. Just as it was looking like the match would end level, Alec Fiddes’s 92nd-minute winner sealed the win and end a four-match losing league run. After the match, the K’s announced that Whyteleafe boss Leigh Dynan will be their new manager, replacing Craig Edwards who resigned last week.

Leiston 1 – 5 Folkestone Invicta

Venue: Victory Road Attendance: 321

Leiston succumbed to a first-half goal blitz as Invicta got the points at Victory Road. Scott Heard got the ball rolling for Invicta as his goal on eight minutes gave them the lead. Ian Draycott [17’] and Samuel Hasler [26’] strikes extended that advantage before Adam Yusuff’s spot-kick on the stroke of half-time gave the visitors a big lead at the break. Matt Blake pulled one back for LTFC 16 minutes into the second half though another spot-kick from Yusuff [74’] put paid to any doubt of where the points were heading, securing Folkestone’s 5th win in their last seven league matches.

Merstham 6 – 2 Lowestoft Town

Venue: Moatside | Attendance: 120

Merstham pulled off an excellent win over Lowie at Moatside. Ryan Hall put the hosts ahead on 12 minutes before Dan Bennett doubled that lead on 25 minutes. Hall completed a first-half hat-trick [31’ & 35’] to give his side some daylight though Lowestoft responded through Cruise Nyadzayo [37’] and Travis Cole [40’] to keep things interesting at the break. Late goals from Reece Hall and substitute Youssef Bamba [90’] sealed a highly-encoraging afternoon for the Moatsiders, securing their 5th win of the season here while ending Lowie’s four-match unbeaten run.

Metropolitan Police 3 – 1 Thurrock

Venue: Imber Court | Attendance: 106

The Met secured the win against a Thurrock side finding wins hard to come by at Imber Court. First-half goals from Gavin James [20’] and Lloyd Macklin [22’] gave the hosts the advantage at the break. James struck for the second time three minutes after the break before Macklin’s OG on 68 minutes pulled a goal back for Thurrock though the Met held on to extend their unbeaten league run to six matches.

Staines Town 3 – 0 Leatherhead

Venue: Wheatsheaf Park | Attendance: 317

Staines defeated Leatherhead at Wheatsheaf Park to claim their sixth win of the campaign. Elliott Buchanan’s goal ten minutes before half-time gave the Swans the lead before second-half strikes by Mohamed Bettamer [63’] and Max Worsfold [81’] sealed the win to extend the hosts’ unbeaten league run to four matches while the Tanners have now lost five of their last seven league matches.

Tonbridge Angels 1 – 2 Tooting & Mitcham Utd

Venue: Longmead | Attendance: 549

Tooting took advantage of a stroke of luck to grab all three points at Longmead. Joe Turner struck to give the Angels the lead on 11 minutes though Tooting levelled only three minutes later through Omar Folkes. The aforementioned stroke of luck came through an OG just shy of the hour mark and the Terrors held on to record their third straight league win.

Worthing 1 – 2 Hendon

Venue: Woodside Road Attendance: 614

Worthing finally made their return to Woodside Road though leaders Hendon struck late to spoil the homecoming parade. Seven minutes after the break, Alfie Young put strugglers Worthing ahead though Niko Muir levelled with 18 minutes remaining and substitute Josh Walker nabbed the winner three minutes from time to secure the Greens’ 5th win in their last seven league matches. The wait for their first league win of the campaign goes on for the Rebels though they are in danger of being cut adrift at the foot of the table.

Hello & welcome to a round-up of the action in the Bostik League Premier Division here on my blog. Here’s a round-up of the action that transpired on Saturday 7th October on ‘Non-League Day’ followed by the updated Bostik Premier Division table. Enjoy.

Billericay Town 4 – 3 Hendon

Venue: New Lodge | Attendance: 1,988

Billericay edged Hendon in this top-two clash at New Lodge in front of nearly 2,000 fans. Hendon took the lead only three minutes in through Ashley Nathaniel-George’s strike though Ricky Modeste levelled for the hosts nine minutes later. Keagan Cole put the Greens ahead once again on 17 minutes though again the hosts quickly levelled as Adam Cunnington scored on 20 minutes. ‘Ricay finished the first half strongly as Billy BRicknell’s spot-kick [35’] and Cunnington’s second saw the hosts 4-2 ahead at the interval. Late on, Nathaniel-George grabbed his second to make it a nervy finish though Glenn Tamplin’s side held on to record their 8th straight league win.

Burgess Hill Town 0 – 5 Lowestoft Town

Venue: Leylands Park | Attendance: 479

Lowie had a very happy away-day at Leylands Park. Cruise Nyadzayo gave the visitors the lead on 14 minutes before Jake Reed’s hat-trick [35’,50’,57’] sealed the points for the Trawlerboys. Substitute Josh Greenleaf inflicted more pain on the Hillians with 17 minutes remaining as Lowie recorded their fourth win of the campaign.

Dulwich Hamlet 2 – 0 Needham Market

Venue: Champion Hill | Attendance: 2,417

Dulwich secured the win at Champion Hill in front of the highest crowd of the day in the Isthmian Premier. Nathan Ferguson gave the hosts the lead on 32 minutes before Nana Boakye-Yiadom doubled it a minute before the break. Dulwich held the Marketmen at bay after the break to record their fourth straight league win, in all four of those they haven’t a conceded a goal. Needham have only won one of their last five league matches.

Enfield Town 2 – 1 Margate

Venue: Queen Elizabeth II Stadium | Attendance: 509

Enfield held off Margate to claim the points at the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium. Mickey Purcell put the hosts ahead after only a minute played, though a Darren Purse OG on 52 minutes restored parity for the Gate. Taylor McKenzie got the winner 12 minutes later to seal all three points for Andy Leese’s side, their fourth win of the season. Margate’s five-game undefeated league streak ended here.

Harrow Borough 2 – 0 Kingstonian

Venue: Earlsmead | Attendance: 227

Two first-half goals assisted Harrow to victory over ten-man Kingstonian at Earlsmead. Sam Page was dismissed on 33 minutes so the K’s had to play nearly an hour with a man short. To add to things, Reis Stanislaus’ spot-kick in the same minute gave the hosts the lead before two minutes later getting his second of the afternoon to hand the Reds their sixth win of the league season.

Leatherhead 2 – 1 Harlow Town

Venue: Feltcham Grove | Attendance: 406

Leatherhead fought back to seal the points at Feltcham Grove. Nigel Neite gave Harlow the lead on 32 minutes though ten minutes later, Jack Midson restored parity for Sammy Moore’s side. Twelve minutes into the second-half Reece Williams-Bowers got the eventual winner to give the Tanners their 5th win of the league campaign thus far.

Leiston 2 – 2 Staines Town

Venue: Victory Road Attendance: 323

Leiston came from behind to hold Staines at Victory Road. Elliott Buchanan put the visitors ahead nine minutes in though Joe Jefford equalised five minutes later for the Blues. Buchanan struck again [58’] to give the Swans the lead for a second time though Jack Ainsley secured a point for the hosts with his leveller with 11 minutes to play and in doing so preserving the hosts’ unbeaten record so far this term.

Merstham 1 – 2 Dorking Wanderers

Venue: Moatside | Attendance: 271

Ten-man Dorking struck late to seal the points at Moatside. Jerome Beckles was dismissed after just 12 minutes so Dorking were on the back-foot somewhat. Ryan Hall then put the Moatsiders ahead ten minutes later. After the break, goals from Tom Tolfrey [61’] and Chris Boulter [82’] sealed the turnaround for the Wanderers and end the hosts’ five-match unbeaten run in the league.

Metropolitan Police 3 – 1 Folkestone Invicta

Venue: Imber Court | Attendance: 165

The Met recovered after an early setback to grab the win at Imber Court. Ian Draycott put Invicta ahead four minutes in though Jay Gasson levelled ten minutes later. After a break, a brace from Lloyd Macklin [pen 70’ & 76’] sealed the comeback for the hosts and secure their fourth win of the league season.

Thurrock 3 – 3 Brightlingsea Regent

Venue: Ship Lane | Attendance: 128

Thurrock got a creditable point in a real ‘ding-dong’ encounter at Ship Lane. Regent led on 18 minutes through Connor Hogan’s opener though Dennis Oli levelled things 11 minutes later. Robbie Rees struck two minutes after the break to put the R’s back ahead before Billy Hunt’s goal [56’] gave them a two-goal cushion. Late goals from Charlie Stimson [83’] and Lewwis Spence [90’] secured a point for Mark Stimson’s side, who have drawn three of their last five league matches now.

Tonbridge Angels 1 – 0 Wingate & Finchley

Venue: Longmead | Attendance: 635

Angels secured the win, watched by a big crowd at Longmead. Alex Akrofi got the only goal on the hour to secure his side’s third league win in their last five league matches.

Tooting & Mitcham Utd 4 – 3 Worthing

Venue: Imperial Fields Attendance: 265

Tooting edged this bottom-two clash at Imperial Fields. Tooting led on the quarter-hour through Chace O’Neill before Jared Rance levelled 13 minutes later. Worthing took the lead for the first time on 32 minutes as Alex Parsons struck and they led at half-time. Callum McNaughton restored parity for the hosts six minutes after the break before late goals from Omar Folkes [78’] and substitute Billy Dunn [82’] put them ahead though fellow substitute Isaac Newton’s goal a minute from time made it a nervy end for the Terrors. In any case, the hosts did secure their maiden win of the campaign here.

Bostik Premier Division

Billericay Town 1 – 0 Tooting & Mitcham Utd

Venue: New Lodge | Attendance: 1,104

Billericay struck at the death to secure another three points at New Lodge. The visitors were reduced to ten men on 64 minutes as Jordan Wilson was dismissed for two bookings. ‘Ricay were also a man light with 13 minutes remaining as Rob Swaine was given a straight red card. The hosts scraped the win though as Ricky Modeste’s goal in added time secured Town’s seventh straight league win. Tooting have yet to taste victory thus far this term.

Burgess Hill Town 0 – 1 Tonbridge Angels

Venue: The Green Elephant Stadium | Attendance: 462

Tonbridge edged Burgess Hill to claim the points. The only goal came from Alexander Akrofi on 71 minutes. Steve McKimm’s side held on to claim their third win of the season.

Dorking Wanderers 3 – 2 Brightlingsea Regent

Venue: London Road | Attendance: 223

Dorking held off a second-half comeback by Regent to claim the win at London Road. Dorking led on nine minutes as Dan Pearse put them ahead. A penalty from Billy Hunt levelled things on 32 minutes before James McShane put the hosts back ahead a minute later. Wanderers led 3-1 at the break as Tom Tolfrey struck a minute before half-time. Substitute Aaron Condon pulled one back with 15 minutes left. Dorking held on though to record their third win this term. Regent are now without a win in their last three league matches.

Dulwich Hamlet 4 – 0 Leatherhead

Venue: Champion Hill | Attendance: 1,752

Dulwich comfortably defeated the Tanners at Champion Hill. Muhammadu Faal gave Hamlet the lead four minutes in. Goals from Kenny Beaney (23’) and Faal’s second (43’) put the hosts clear at the interval. Nyren Clunis made the points safe with the fourth eight minutes after the break. This was Dulwich’s fourth win of the season, while being Leatherhead’s third loss of the campaign.

Folkestone Invicta 3 – 2 Hendon

Venue: The Fullicks Stadium | Attendance: 457

Invicta recovered to get all three points at the Fullicks. A quick-fire brace from Niko Muir (47’ & 49’) gave Hendon the advantage. Adam Yusuff’s spot-kick on 51 minutes pulled one back for Folkestone before goals from Joshua Vincent (70’) & Joseph Taylor (84’) sealed the turn-around and gave Invicta their fourth win of the season. This was Hendon’s first loss in four league matches.

Kingstonian 6 – 0 Harlow Town

Venue: Feltcham Grove | Attendance: 223

The K’s smashed Harlow in a big win at Feltcham Grove. Kingstonian led 4-0 at the break thanks to goals from Tom Collins (21’), Tom Derry (32’), Toby Little (37’) and Lewis Taylor (45’). Craig Edwards’ side completed the scoring after the break thanks to Collins’ second on 62 minutes and Kane Haysman on 74 minutes. The K’s have now won three out of their last four league matches while the visitors have been defeated five times this season so far.

Leiston 3 – 0 Metropolitan Police

Venue: Victory Road | Attendance: 256

Leiston saw off the challenge of Met Police at Victory Road. Matt Blake put the Blues ahead on 29 minutes before Joe Marsden doubled the lead three minutes before the break. A late third by substitute Robert Eagle sealed Leiston’s fifth win this term.

Margate 1 – 1 Harrow Borough

Venue: Hartsdown Park | Attendance: 552

Margate were held by Harrow in front of a decent crowd at Hartsdown Park. Orlando Smith gave the hosts the lead on 59 minutes before Adam Richards levelled right on the 90 minute mark to claim a point for Boro. The Gate are now unbeaten in three league matches.

Needham Market 2 – 2 Enfield Town

Venue: Bloomfields | Attendance: 304

Needham had to come from behind to salvage a draw at Bloomfields. Luke Ingram put the hosts ahead five minutes before the break. A Darryl Coakley OG levelled on 52 minutes before Jack Higgs gave Enfield the lead with nine minutes to play. Needham restored parity late on through Dan Morphew’s spot-kick. The Marketmen haven’t won in four league matches now.

Staines Town 3 – 1 Lowestoft Town

Venue: Wheatsheaf Park | Attendance: 199

Staines came from behind to get the points at Wheatsheaf Park. Jacek Zielonka initially gave Lowie the lead nine minutes in. That lead lasted three minutes before Mohamed Bettamer levelled. Staines sealed the comeback with a brace from Jonathan Hippolyte (28’ & 57’), securing their fourth win of the campaign. Lowie have now lost four of their last five league matches.

Thurrock 1 – 1 Merstham

Venue: Ship Lane Attendance: 116

Merstham fought back to claim a point at Ship Lane. Ex-pro Dennis Oli gave Mark Stimson’s side the lead three minutes into the match though Sahr Kabba pulled the visitors level on 28 minutes. The Fleet haven’t won in their last four league matches now while Merstham have drawn their last three matches.

Wingate & Finchley 1 – 0 Worthing

Venue: Summers Lane Attendance: 125

In-form Wingate edged struggling Worthing at Summers Lane. Rob Laney got the only goal five minutes before half-time to give the hosts their sixth straight league win of the season.

Billericay Town 1 – 0 Leatherhead

Venue: New Lodge Attendance: 1, 651

Billericay held on in the battle of the table-toppers in front of a big crowd at New Lodge. Jake Robinson put ‘Ricay ahead on 19 minutes though their job was made harder by the dismissal of captain Paul Konchesky just before half-time. The Tanners couldn’t find their way past the Blues backline though and the hosts’ picked up their fifth straight win.

Brightlingsea Regent 2 – 1 Enfield Town

Venue: North Road Attendance: 263

Regent edged Enfield to rack up their third win of the campaign. Josh Gould put the hosts ahead on 12 minutes, though Simon Thomas levelled things up 12 minutes into the second half. James Webster’s side would not be denied though as Billy Hunt grabbed the winner seven minutes from time.

Dorking Wanderers 0 – 1 Dulwich Hamlet

Venue: London Road Attendance: 331

Dulwich narrowly won this one at London Road. Ricky Hayles scored the only goal two minutes in, though the visitors did have to battle to secure the win. Gavin Rose’s side have now won three of their opening six matches.

Folkestone Invicta 2 – 0 Staines Town

Venue: The Fullicks Stadium Attendance: 401

Invicta took all three points at the Fullicks. Joe Taylor put the hosts’ ahead on 21 minutes and secured the win in stoppage-time through Kieron McCann. Invicta are in 8th spot following their third win of the season.

Harlow Town 2 – 1 Tonbridge Angels

Venue: The Harlow Arena Attendance: 234

Harlow picked up the win at the Harlow Arena. Nigel Neite put the hosts in the driving seat after just two minutes. Alexander Akrofi levelled the match for Tonbridge just before half-time. The ever-reliable Alex Read got the winner for Danny Chapman’s side with 20 minutes remaining.

Harrow Borough 2 – 2 Merstham

Venue: Earlsmead Attendance: 140

Harrow came from behind though had to settle for a point at Earlsmead. Merstham led on 25 minutes through Ryan Hall’s strike. Nine minutes later, Reis Stanislaus levelled for Borough, though Hall struck again on the hour as the Moatsiders re-took the lead. Adam Richards secured a point for the hosts with a 86th-minute leveller. Harrow have only lost one of their opening six matches.

Kingstonian 3 – 2 Lowestoft Town

Kingstonian recovered to pick up the win against ten-man Lowestoft. The visitors were down to ten after only 14 minutes as Dean Leacock was dismissed. Ollie Humphrey put Lowie ahead though ten minutes before the interval. The K’s were level only a minute later thanks to Kane Haysman’s strike. The Trawlerboys once again took the lead from the spot, courtesy of Jake Reed’s penalty three minutes after the interval. Lewis Taylor restored parity with 14 minutes to go before substitute Ricky Sappleton got the winner two minutes later to give Craig Edwards’ side their third win of the campaign.

Leiston 3 – 1 Thurrock

Venue: Victory Road Attendance: 253

Leiston were too strong for Thurrock at Victory Road. Matt Blake gave the Blues the lead on 28 minutes, before Jack Ainsley’s penalty eight minutes before half-time doubled the lead. Reece Morgan pulled one back for the Fleet a minute before the interval. Blake popped up again six minutes into the second half to make sure of the hosts’ fourth win of the campaign & they are the only side that remain unbeaten in the division.

Metropolitan Police 1 – 2 Hendon

Venue: Imber Court Attendance: 110

Hendon won this one at the death at Imber Court. Zak Joseph gave Hendon the lead on eight minutes, before Jay Gasson levelled with 24 minutes remaining. Substitute Keagan Cole scored the winner in stoppage-time after his initial penalty was saved. Hendon go into the top four with this, their fourth win of the season.

Tooting & Mitcham Utd 1 – 1 Needham Market

Venue: Imperial Fields Attendance: 230

Tooting recovered to hold mid-table Needham at Imperial Fields. Sam Nunn put the visitors ahead after just two minutes though Eddie Dines struck to restore parity just before half-time. Tooting are one of only two sides yet to win in the Isthmian Premier so far this term.

Wingate & Finchley 2 – 0 Burgess Hill Town

Venue: Summers Lane Attendance: 74

A second-half brace sealed the points for Wingate at Summers Lane. Rob Laney’s double (63’ & 90’) fired Keith Rowland’s side to their fourth win of the campaign.

Worthing 0 – 5 Margate

Venue: Nyewood Lane Attendance: 256

Bottom side Worthing’s troubles intensified after this drubbing by Margate at Bognor Regis Town’s Nyewood Lane. Margate took the lead after six minutes through Orlando Smith’s goal and Jordan Chiedozie doubled the lead ten minutes before half-time. Both sides were a man light just before half-time as Worthing’s Daniel Akinwunwi and Chiedozie both saw red for violent conduct. Margate poured on the misery after the break though as Frankie Collin netted a 13-minute hat-trick (61’,67’ & 74’) to seal Margate’s third win of the season. Worthing boss Gary Elphick resigned from his post following this match and I wish him well for the future. The Mackerel Men are pointless from their opening six matches.

FA Cup FQR & Bostik League South Results round-up – 1st-3rd September 2017

Hello one & all and welcome to a lengthy round-up of some FA Cup First Qualifying Round (FQR) ties focusing on Bostik League sides plus two results from Bostik Division South fixtures this weekend. Grab a cuppa and enjoy.

FA Cup FQR

Friday 1st September 2017

Kingstonian 3 – 2 Shoreham

Venue: Feltcham Grove Attendance: 218

Bostik Premier side Kingstonian edged Bostik South side Shoreham at Feltcham Grove to advance to the next round. New signing Kane Haysman gave the K’s the lead after eight minutes. The Musselmen responded six minutes later as Evan Archibald levelled for the visitors. Shoreham took the lead four minutes before the interval through Mark Goldson’s strike. Craig Edwards’ men went into half-time level, courtesy of a Lewis Taylor spot-kick just before the break. Taylor scored another penalty with 18 minutes left to see his side progress. Shoreham had to see out the last four minutes with ten men as Scott Packer was dismissed for two bookings.

Saturday 2nd September

AFC Sudbury 1 – 1 Mildenhall Town

Venue: Wardale Williams Stadium Attendance: 239

Mildenhall came from behind to deny Sudbury the win at the Wardale Williams Stadium. Jake Turner gave the Yellows the lead six minutes into the second half. Mildenhall’s Jake Chambers-Shaw restored parity with 20 minutes left and the stalemate continued so a replay at Recreation Way is required in midweek.

Arlesey Town 0 – 7 Heybridge Swifts

Venue: New Lamb Meadow Attendance: 163

Heybridge produced a superb display to thump Arlesey in their own back-yard. In the first minute, Juan Luque set the tone as he gave Swifts the lead. Only two minutes afterward, Luke Callander doubled the lead. The hosts did get some respite though after the break the floodgates opened as Luque grabbed his second two minutes after the interval. Sam Bantick made it four on the hour before full-back Ben Sampayo’s goal after 67 minutes erased any doubt Jody Brown’s side would prevail here. Late goals from Joe Gardner (70’) and substitute Joshua Fagbohun (85’) sealed a dominant display and sees Swifts through to the next round.

Ashford Town (Middx) 2 – 0 Corinthian Casuals

Venue: Short Lane Attendance: 125

Ashford secured an important win and progression to the next round at Short Lane. Mark Bitmead gave Town the lead after 25 minutes, before Dan Fleming struck on the half-hour to seal the win for the hosts. Casuals finished the match with ten-men as substitute Reyon Dillon was dismissed for two bookings, 16 minutes after coming on.

Aylesbury 1 – 3 Leiston

Venue: SRD Stadium Attendance: 109

Leiston saw off the challenge of Aylesbury to progress to the next round. Loanee Byron Lawrence opened the scoring six minutes before the break. Leiston doubled their advantage through Dominic Docherty’s goal nine minutes into the second half and Seb Dunbar made the match safe three minutes later. Jonny Montgomery grabbed what turned out to be a consolation for the hosts 14 minutes from time. Leiston had to play the last six minutes a man light as Docherty was given his marching orders late on.

Bedford Town 0 – 2 Lowestoft Town

Venue: Meadow Lane Attendance: 264

Lowestoft Town progressed to the next round with this win at Meadow Lane. An Ollie Swain OG on 26 minutes gifted the Trawlerboys the lead. Travis Cole struck just past the hour to seal the win for Ady Gallagher’s men.

Billericay Town 5 – 0 Didcot Town

Venue: New Lodge Attendance: 1,159

Billericay eventually powered past Didcot Town to advance into the next round. The Blues led on 40 minutes through hot-shot Jake Robinson. Robinson struck again with 23 minutes remaining to send Glenn Tamplin’s side on their way. Substitute Ricky Modeste made it three with 17 minutes to play before late goals by Robinson (to complete his hat-trick) and Adam Cunnington (pen) sealed a hefty win to delight the ‘Ricay supporters.

Cheshunt 2 – 0 Takeley

Venue: Theobalds Lane Attendance: 185

Cheshunt prevailed in Steve Newing’s first match in charge at Theobalds Lane. A quick-fire double by Kyle Roberts (65’) and hot-shot Jason Hallett (67’) sealed the win over ESL side Takeley, whose excellent FA Cup adventure ends here.

Clapton 0 – 3 Needham Market

Venue: Old Spotted Dog Stadium Attendance: 143

Bostik Premier side Needham improved in the second-half to take the win at the OSD. Gareth Heath gave the Marketmen the lead 20 minutes into the second half. Late goals from Luke Ingram and Callum Harrison secured the win and ended Clapton’s good run in the competition.

Dorking Wanderers 3 – 2 Worthing

Venue: London Road Attendance: 281

Dorking fought back and consigned fellow Bostik Premier side Worthing to another defeat at London Road. David Ray gave Wanderers the lead after six minutes, though Isaac Newton (no, not that one!) levelled on 26 minutes. Worthing grabbed the lead through James Fraser’s goal four minutes after the break. Marc White’s side responded just eight minutes later as Isaac Philpott restored parity. Matthew Briggs got the winner 22 minutes from time to seal the hosts’ path to the next round.

Dulwich Hamlet 3 – 1 Hastings Utd

Venue: Champion Hill Attendance: 1,288

Dulwich produced an extraordinary comeback to seal their place in the next round. Hastings led just before the break through Ollie Rowe though the drama was yet to come. Recent signing Nana Boakye-Yiadom came off the bench and turned the tide with a superb 11-minute hat-trick to give Gavin Rose’s side the win.

Enfield Town 2 – 1 Harrow Borough

Venue: Queen Elizabeth II Stadium Attendance: 421

Enfield struck late-on to secure their place in the next round at the QE II Stadium. Simon Thomas gave the Towners the lead after 11 minutes. Fellow Bostik Premier side Harrow levelled with 14 minutes to play through Michael Bryan’s strike. Thomas grabbed his brace and the win for Andy Leese’s men two minutes from time.

Erith Town 0 – 3 Burgess Hill Town

Venue: Oakwood Attendance: 105

Burgess Hill took their place in the 2nd Qualifying Round with this win at VCD Athletic’s Oakwood. A brace from Tony Garrod (21’ & 42’) put the Hillians comfortably ahead at the break. Substitute Pat Harding made sure though with a goal moments from time.

Faversham Town 3 – 1 Tonbridge Angels

Venue: Salters Lane Attendance: 346

Bostik Premier side Tonbridge exited the competition at the hands of Bostik South’s Faversham at Salters Lane. Mark Lovell put the Lilywhites ahead on six minutes, before Lovell struck again on the half-hour. Andre McCollin cut the arrears in half for the Angels nine minutes before the break. Matthew Bourne pounced on 67 minutes to restore Faversham’s two-goal cushion and seal the tie.

Folkestone Invicta 3 – 2 Greenwich Borough

Venue: The Fullicks Stadium Attendance: 351

Folkestone sealed a last-minute win at the Fullicks. Ex-pro striker Charlie MacDonald gave Greenwich the lead eight minutes in. Samuel Hasler restored parity just before half-time. Greenwich once again took the initiative through Travis Gregory just before the hour. Greenwich were a man down when Kaka Dembele was sent off with 23 minutes remaining. Invicta took advantage & were level with 15 minutes remaining thanks to Michael Everitt ‘s goal. The game wasn’t finished there though as Kieron McCann’s header sealed a narrow win for Neil Cugley’s men.

Gorleston 0 – 4 Barking

Venue: Emerald Park Attendance: 192

Barking produced a good display to progress to the next round. Theo Ola gave the Blues the lead on 28 minutes, before Dan Gilchrist made it two eight minutes later. After the break, Justin Gardner’s men made the win safe with goals from Alan Taylor (54’) and Gilchrist’s second of the afternoon (72’).

Hanwell Town 4 – 1 Brightlingsea Regent

Venue: Perivale Lane Attendance: 142

Step 4 Hanwell upset Regent to reach the next round at Perivale Lane. Charlie Mitchell put the hosts ahead after seven minutes. Glen Yala made it two four minutes before the break. Regent reduced their arrears through Matt Cripps’ goal a minute before half-time. Though second-half goals from Oliver Duffy (56’) and Yala’s second of the afternoon (86’) sealed the hosts’ progression here.

Haringey Borough 1 – 1 Hitchin Town

Venue: Coles Park Attendance: 171

Haringey fought back to level this encounter at Coles Park. An Quba Gordon OG 12 minutes in gave Hitchin the lead before Rakim Richards levelled just past the hour to force a replay in midweek.

Hendon 1 – 1 Wingate & Finchley

Venue: Silver Jubilee Park Attendance: 298

Hendon forced a replay late-on in front of nearly 300 fans at Silver Jubilee Park. After a goal-less first half, Wingate led through Spencer McCall’s goal two minutes after the re-start. Hendon struck three minutes from time thanks to Rian Bray’s leveller and deny fellow Bostik Premier side the win.

Herne Bay 3 – 1 Walton Casuals

Venue: Winch’s Field Attendance: 192

Herne Bay triumphed in this all-Bostik South contest at Winch’s Field. Junior Aikhionbare gave the Bay the lead nine minutes before the break. Roscoe D’Sane restored parity from the spot with 23 minutes remaining though late strikes from Alex Mulrooney-Skinner (77’) and substitute Nassim Dukali (90’) sealed a good win for John Embery’s men.

Hertford Town 1 – 1 Grays Athletic

Venue: Hertingfordbury Park Attendance: 315

Hertford came from behind to force a replay against Grays at Hertfordingbury Park. Hot-shot Kieran Bishop gave Ath the lead from penalty spot on 21 minutes. With 15 minutes to play, Tommy Wade struck to give Town another chance for FA Cup glory at Parkside in midweek.

Horsham 6 – 0 Ashford Utd

Venue: Goring’s Mead Attendance: 243

Horsham powered to a big win over fellow Bostik South side Ashford at Goring’s Mead. Most of the damage was done in the first half as goals in the opening 20 minutes from Darren Boswell (11’) and Toby House (18’) gave the Hornets a decent cushion to build from. And that they did as House grabbed his second of the afternoon 11 minutes before the break and Steve Metcalf made it 4-0 at half-time. Second-half goals from Michael Waller (58’) and Robert O’Toole (62’) sealed the thumping win for Dominic Di Paola’s men.

Leatherhead 6 – 0 Cray Valley PM

Venue: Feltcham Grove Attendance: 283

Leatherhead sealed the place in the next round with a dominant performance at Feltcham Grove. Chike Kandi put the Tanners ahead on 28 minutes, before Jack Midson grabbed a quick-fire brace (32’ & 37’) to put the hosts three up. Kandi grabbed his second seven minutes before the break before completing his hat-trick eight minutes into the second half. Sam Blackman completed the rout seven minutes from time for Sammy Moore’s side.

Maldon & Tiptree 3 – 3 Hayes & Yeading Utd

Venue: Park Drive Attendance: 91

Maldon need a late-leveller to force a replay at Park Drive. Things started well for Maldon as Junior Ogedi-Uzowke gave them the lead from the spot 13 minutes before half-time. Hayes fought back though after the break as Harry Wise struck five minutes after half-time. The visitors took the lead through an unfortunate OG six minutes later. Ryan Gondoh restored parity just past the hour before Immanuelson Duku scored from the penalty spot on 68 minutes. 2-3. Johnville Renee grabbed a late equaliser to force a replay in midweek.

Margate 3 – 1 East Grinstead Town

Venue: Hartsdown Park Attendance: 458

Margate prevailed in this one in front of a good down on the 3G at Hartsdown Park. Harry Stannard put the Gate ahead after 18 minutes, before Jordan Chiedozie doubled the lead seven minutes afterward. Chiedozie struck again eight minutes after the break to seal the win. Bostik South side East Grinstead pulled one back from the spot thanks to Marcus Elliot with six minutes left though the Bostik Premier side went through.

Metropolitan Police 3 – 2 Staines Town

Venue: Imber Court

Met Police edged this all-Isthmian Premier encounter at Imber Court. Ryan James gave the Met the lead on the half-hour before Staines’ Max Worsfold levelled three minutes before half-time. A double-salvo from Charlie Collins (50’) and Tom Bird (54’) gave Jim Cooper’s side a cushion though the Swans still ensured a nervy ending through Elliot Buchanan’s consolation two minutes from time.

Phoenix Sports 2 – 0 Eastbourne Town

Venue: The Mayplace Ground Attendance: 177

Phoenix secured their passage into the next round late-on at the Mayplace Ground. Goals from Jack Hopkins (82’) and Kweku Ansah (90’) were enough to win this one for the Isthmian South side.

Potters Bar Town 1 – 0 Bishop’s Stortford

Venue: Pakex Stadium Attendance: 181

Isthmian North Potters Bar edged out Stortford to send the Evo-Stik Southern Premier side out of the competition. Eoin Casey got the only goal with 25 minutes remaining on a good day for Steve Ringrose’s side.

Ramsgate 3 – 3 Egham Town

Venue: Southwood Stadium Attendance: 204

Ramsgate came from behind three times to force a replay at Southwood. Egham led three minutes into the second half through Matthew Woods’ goal. Tom Chapman levelled for the hosts four minutes later before a penalty from Brendan Matthews on 58 minutes made it 1-2. Egham were sitting pretty as Louis Stead gave them a two-goal cushion with 13 minutes left. The Rams recovered though as late goals from Alfie Paxman (82’) and Luke Wheatley (90’) denied the visitors an impressive win.

Thamesmead Town 3 – 0 Lewes

Venue: Princes Park Attendance: 104

Thamesmead sent fellow Isthmian South side Lewes out with a good display at Princes Park. An early brace from Paul Vines (2’ & pen 17) put the Mead ahead and substitute Tashi-Jay Kwayie added a third with 13 minutes to play to seal a good day for Tommy Warrilow’s men.

Thurrock 1 – 1 Harlow Town

Venue: Ship Lane Attendance: 159

Harlow were denied the win late-on at Ship Lane. The Hawks led through Tommie Fagg’s opener just before the break. Thurrock did force a replay though as Lewwis Spence’s 25-yarder restored parity with just four minutes remaining.

Tilbury 0 – 1 Aylesbury Utd

Venue: Chadfields Attendance: 115

Aylesbury edged fellow Step 4 side Tilbury at Chadfields. Tyriq Hunte got the only goal ten minutes into the second half to seal the away-day win.

Tooting & Mitcham Utd 2 – 0 Merstham

Venue: Imperial Fields Attendance: 256

A goal in each half secured Tooting’s passage into the next round. Chace O’Neill’s opener three minutes before the break gave the Terrors a half-time lead. Substitute Jake Baxter struck with nine minutes left to send fellow Isthmian Premier side Merstham out of this year’s FA Cup.

Ware 2 – 1 Witham Town

Venue: Wodson Park Attendance: 101

Ware survived a second-half comeback from fellow Isthmian North side Witham to prevail at Wodson Park. First-half goals from Denzel Conteh (6’) and Yannick Kamanan (45’) gave the Blues the advantage. Elliott Ronto halved Town’s arrears with 16 minutes left though Kem Kemal’s side held on to progress to the next round.

Yaxley 0 – 1 Dereham Town

Venue: Leading Drove Attendance: 125

Dereham grabbed a narrow win at Leading Drove. Daniel Beaumont grabbed the only goal six minutes into the second half to seal the Isthmian North’s side place in the next round.

Hadley 2 – 3 FC Romania

Venue: Brickfield Lane Attendance: 65

Littlehampton Town 2 – 2 Chipstead

Venue: St Flora’s Road Attendance: 229

Bostik South side Chipstead held Littlehampton at St Flora’s Road. Jordan Martin put the visitors ahead on 27 minutes, before Lee Garnham levelled with three minutes to go until the break. After the break, Dan Kempson put Town ahead with 25 minutes remaining though Sam Bell grabbed an equalizer three minutes from time to take it back to High Road for a replay.

Romford 0 – 1 AFC Hornchurch

Venue: Ship Lane Attendance: 333

Hornchurch swept aside Romford at Ship Lane in front of a good crowd. Nathan Cooper scored the only goal with 19 minutes gone to seal the Urchins’ march to the next round. Romford can take some positives though they had goalkeeper Michael Gooch to thank for keeping them in the match.

Saturday 2nd September

Bostik League South

Hythe Town 5 – 1 Guernsey

Venue: Reachfields Stadium Attendance: 192

Hythe powered their way to a big win at Reachfields. Kenny Pogue gave the Cannons the lead on 26 minutes. Charlie Webster struck to make it two seven minutes before the break, before Pogue got his brace five minutes into the second half. Thomas Dodds got what would be a consolation for the Green Lions 11 minutes from time. Late goals from Dean Grant (89’) and a Jamie Dodd OG (90’) sealed the points for Clive Cook’s side.

Sittingbourne 2 – 1 Whyteleafe

Venue: Woodstock Park Attendance: 122

Sittingbourne fought back to claim the points at Woodstock Park. Tommy Hutchings gave the Leafe the lead after eight minutes. After the break, the Brickies restored parity through Kane Rowland’s goal on the hour, before Tom Loynes got the winner on 71 minutes. As a result, Nick Davis’ side go second in the table.

Hello & welcome to a round-up of the action in the Bostik League Premier Division here on my blog. Here’s a round-up of the action that transpired on Bank Holiday Monday. Enjoy.

Monday 28th August

Burgess Hill Town 4 – 1 Worthing

Venue: The Green Elephant Stadium Attendance: 525

Burgess Hill claimed a good win over early basement-boys Worthing. Tony Garrod gave the hosts the lead after just four minutes, before Guy Bolton made it two just three minutes later. Ben Pope pulled one back on 9 minutes for the Rebels to add to a frenetic start to the match. After the break, a Gary Elphick OG on 63minutes and a late goal from substitute Lee Harding sealed the win for Ian Chapman’s side. Worthing are the only side yet to score a point in the division in five matches.

Dulwich Hamlet 2 – 1 Tooting & Mitcham Utd

Venue: Champion Hill Attendance: 1,668

Dulwich came from behind to grab an important win at in front of a big crowd at Champion Hill. Billy Dunn’s penalty gave Tooting the lead after only six minutes. After the break, Dulwich levelled thanks to Kenny Beaney just before the hour. Beaney grabbed his second with ten minutes left to grab all three points for Gavin Rose’s men.

Enfield Town 1 – 0 Harlow Town

Venue: Queen Elizabeth II Stadium Attendance: 514

Enfield secured a narrow win over Harlow at the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium. A James Shepherd own-goal on 13 minutes was the difference in this one as the Towners picked up their second win of the campaign.

Hendon 6 – 0 Harrow Borough

Venue: Silver Jubilee Park Attendance: 316

A first-half blitz helped Hendon to thrash early leaders Harrow at Silver Jubilee Park. Only a minute in, Matt Ball gave Hendon the lead, before Niko Muir made it two just five minutes later. Muir grabbed his second on 16 minutes before sealing a 33-minute hat-trick with 39’ on the watch to give the Greens a 4-0 half-time lead. After the break, goals from Zak Joseph (69’) and Keagan Cole (73’) added more hurt for Steve Baker’s side and end their unbeaten start to the campaign.

Leatherhead 1 – 0 Metropolitan Police

Venue: Feltcham Grove Attendance: 321

Leatherhead narrowly won this one at Feltcham Grove which saw both sides end with ten players. Sean Clohessy was dismissed with two minutes remaining of the first half for the Tanners. After the break, the visitors also caught the wrath of the referee as Lewis Puttman was sent off for too bookings 11 minutes into the second half. Luke Kandi got the only goal of the game with 13 minutes to play as Sammy Moore’s side go joint-top with this result.

Lowestoft Town 0 – 2 Leiston

Venue: Crown Meadow Attendance: 593

Leiston secured the win with a two-goal blitz early in the second half, watched by nearly 600 fans at Crown Meadow. Robert Eagle gave the Blues the lead six minutes after the break. Five minutes later, Joe Marsden sealed the points for Glenn Driver’s men and their third win of the season.

Margate 1 – 0 Dorking Wanderers

Venue: Hartsdown Park Attendance: 630

Margate left it late to overcome Dorking at Hartsdown Park. New signing Jordan Chiedozie got the only goal 17 minutes from time to hand Steve Watt’s side their second triumph thus far this term.

Merstham 1 – 2 Kingstonian

Venue: Moatside Attendance: 251

Kingstonian recovered from going behind to claim all three points at Moatside. A Ryan Hall penalty five minutes from half-time put Hayden Bird’s team ahead. K’s substitute Tom Derry restored parity 17 minutes into the second half before another penalty, this time from Lewis Taylor five minutes later sealed the points for Craig Edwards’ side.

Needham Market 0 – 3 Brightlingsea Regent

Venue: Bloomfields Attendance: 347

Regent grabbed an important victory at Bloomfields. George Doyle gave the R’s the lead on the half-hour, before Aaron Condon doubled their advantage nine minutes later. After the restart, Doyle went from ‘hero to zero’ somewhat as he given a straight red card with 18 minutes to go. Needham were reduced to ten themselves only eight minutes afterward as Dan Morphew was dismissed for two bookable offences. Regent secured the win late on through Billy Hunt’s goal in what was Regent boss James Webster’s 400th match in charge of the side, congratulations to him for reaching that milestone.

Staines Town 0 – 5 Wingate & Finchley

Venue: Wheatsheaf Park Attendance: 266

Wingate picked up another big win at Wheatsheaf Park in a one-sided contest. Sean Cronin gave the Blues the lead after 14 minutes. After the break, Keith Rowland’s side ran riot as Spencer McCall made it 2-0 to the visitors three minutes into the second half. Late goals from substitute Afolabi Obafemi (83’), Luke Ifil (85’) and Cronin’s second from the spot (90’) sealed Wingate’s third win of the season.

Thurrock 0 – 5 Billericay Town

Venue: Ship Lane Attendance: 523

Billericay secured their second big win in three days at Ship Lane. Adam Cunnington gave the Blues the lead after just three minutes, before Jake Robinson made it two on the quarter-hour. Robinson grabbed his brace eight minutes later to give the visitors a healthy cushion. Four minutes into the second half, Cunnington grabbed his second of the afternoon. Billy Bricknell added a fifth 20 minutes into the second half to seal a convincing win for Glenn Tamplin’s side.

Tonbridge Angels 2 – 3 Folkestone Invicta

Venue: Longmead Attendance: 534

Folkestone came from behind twice to record a good win at Longmead. Joe Turner put the Angels ahead on the quarter-hour. Adam Yusuff restored parity for Invicta six minutes later from the penalty spot. Ex-pro Nathan Elder put the hosts back ahead on 24 minutes and that stood until half-time. After the interval though, Scott Heard levelled on 53 minutes for Neil Cugley’s side. The telling blow landed only three minutes later as Joshua Vincent got what turned out to be the winner and Invicta’s second win of the new season.

Hello & welcome to a round-up of the action in the Bostik League Premier Division here on my blog. There’s a quick turnaround with most teams playing twice in three days over the Bank Holiday Weekend.

Friday 25th August result

Thurrock 3 – 2 Worthing

Venue: Ship Lane Attendance: 147

Thurrock weathered a Worthing comeback to claim all three points at Ship Lane. Joe Christou put Fleet ahead after just two minutes. Christou grabbed his second on 25 minutes to extend Thurrock’s lead. James Fraser pulled one back for the Rebels nine minutes later. Charlie Stimson restored Thurrock’s two-goal cushion six minutes after the re-start. Worthing grabbed what turned out to be a consolation goal five minutes later through defender Gary Elphick, though the hosts held on for their second win of the campaign.

Saturday 26th August results

Billericay Town 6 – 1 Burgess Hill Town

Venue: New Lodge Attendance: 1,110

Billericay powered to a big win at New Lodge. Robbie Evans gave the Blues the lead after five minutes, before James Richmond levelled for the Hillians. After the break, the home side took over as substitute Adam Cunnington grabbed a 18-minute hat-trick (50’, 53’ & 68’) to seal the win for Glenn Tamplin’s side. Late goals from Billy Bricknell (pen 78’) and Sam Deering added to the visitors’ pain as the hosts picked up their third straight win.

Brightlingsea Regent 2 – 1 Hendon

Venue: North Road Attendance: 201

Brightlingsea struck a late winner to achieve their first win of the new season. Billy Hunt put Regent ahead with 16 minutes remaining. Only a minute later, Keagan Cole levelled for the Greens. Regent’s Phil Kelly struck in added time to seal the points for James Webster’s side.

Dorking Wanderers 1 – 1 Staines Town

Venue: Westhumble Community Ground Attendance: 275

Dorking struck late on to claim a point in this feisty encounter at the Westhumble. Staines took the lead on the quarter-hour through Mohamed Bettamer. Wanderers were reduced to ten men after 34 minutes as Jerome Beckles was dismissed for two bookable offences. The player count was levelled just before half-time as Wadah Ahmidi also received two bookings. Dorking levelled the match with a minute to spare as Dean Hamlin struck to seal a point.

Folkestone Invicta 0 – 2 Needham Market

Venue: The Fullicks Stadium Attendance: 374

Needham secured a good win at the Fullicks Stadium. Ryan Gibbs put the Marketmen ahead on the stroke of half-time. Callum Harrison secured the win with moments remaining to give Needham their second win of the season and hand Invicta their first loss.

Harlow Town 2 – 0 Lowestoft Town

Venue: The Harlow Arena Attendance: 212

A five-minute goal burst from Harlow after the break secured the win for Town at the Harlow Arena. Alex Read opened his side’s account from the spot on 65 minutes, before Reece Dobson doubled the lead four minutes later to grab the Hawks ‘ first win of the new league season.

Harrow Borough 2 – 0 Tonbridge Angels

Venue: Earlsmead Attendance: 203

Harrow continued their superb start to the new season with this win at Earlsmead. Michael Bryan put the Reds ahead after nine minutes, before Will Turl sealed the win 13 minutes into the second half. After getting a repreieve from the drop last term, Harrow have now won four out of four so far this term.

Kingstonian 0 – 4 Leatherhead

Venue: Feltcham Grove Attendance: 415

Leatherhead defeated tenants Kingstonian in the first ‘Feltcham Grove’ derby. Lee Minshull gave the Tanners the lead on 27 minutes, before Jack Midson doubled that lead just before half-time. Luke Kandi made it three with 21 minutes remaining. Yannis Ambroisine secured a big win for Sammy Moore’s side on 72 mnutes.

Leiston 2 – 2 Dulwich Hamlet

Venue: Victory Road Attendance: 341

Leiston struck late on to seal a point against Dulwich at Victory Road. Nyren Clunis put Hamlet ahead on 18 minutes, before Sanchez Ming doubled that advantage seven minutes before half-time. Christy Finch reduced the arrears for the Blues three minutes later. Leiston kept going and grabbed a point late-on thanks to Joe Jefford’s goal to stay unbeaten so far this term.

Metropolitan Police 0 – 3 Merstham

Venue: Imber Court Attendance: 96

Merstham comfortably defeated Met Police at Imber Court. Reece Hall put the visitors ahead after six minutes, before Ryan Hall converted a penalty on 32 minutes to give the Moatsiders a two-goal lead at the break. Imrahim Fofana added a third five minutes from time as Merstham claimed their second win of the season thus far.

Tooting & Mitcham Utd 0 – 4 Enfield Town

Venue: Imperial Fields Attendance: 308

Enfield secured a big win over ten-man Tooting at Imperial Fields. Enfield led on 37 minutes through Rob Hylton-Barry’s opener. The second half didn’t start well for the Terrors as Peter Wedgeworth was dismissed. Enfield took advantage Ryan Blake extended their lead with 22 minutes left. Goals from Drew Roberts (72’) and Simon Thomas (76’) added to the hosts’ pain to give the Towners their first win of the season.

Wingate & Finchley 1 – 0 Margate

Venue: Summers Lane Attendance: 175

The Blues edged Margate to claim their second win of the season at Summers Lane. Reece Beckles-Richards grabbed the only goal of the game 12 minutes into the second half.
