Hello & welcome to the round-up from the action in the Essex Olympian League. This week on Saturday 1 October, we look at the action in all five divisions, plus an extra section on the various Cup competitions, including the EOFL Senior Cup.

EOFL – Saturday 1 October
EOFL Premier Division & Division One
As ever we begin with the top-tier, and Rayleigh Town went up to second spot after a 4 – 0 victory against Springfield at Thames Road. George Vile grabbed a rare hat-trick, alongside a goal from replacement Lewis Robson for Paul Higgins’ team. After the game, Springfield boss Franco Zabotti stepped down as manager, I’d like to wish him and club well for the future. Also, Runwell Sports got a 1 – 0 success, against Canning Town at St Luke’s. Charlie Little getting the goal there for Robert Hodgson’s side. Leigh Ramblers also got a 1 – 0 win, over Bishop’s Stortford Swifts as Andrew Webster struck again for Mark Hunter’s team, who are in fourth.
Galleywood narrowly won at Sungate 1 – 0, with Ben Smith netting the solitary goal as they secured their first win this season. In the match I was at this weekend, Hutton made the most of big goals at important times as they won 4 – 1 at Catholic Utd. Jude Keeling netted twice for Matt Singh’s team, with an OG & David Johnson accounting for the other goals. If you’d like more on that game, my report is here: https://survivor16b.wordpress.com/2022/10/02/s22-23-match-report-catholic-utd-1-4-hutton-sat-1-oct-eofl/
