Hello and welcome to my round-up of the Essex Olympian League action this weekend, including a look from Premier Division to the results in Senior Division Four, plus the results for EOFL sides in the Essex Premier Cup.
EOFL Premier Division
As ever, we start in the Premier Division, and in the only match of the day due to Essex Premier Cup action was at Belfairs Park as I saw Harold Wood Athletic win 2 – 0 at Leigh Ramblers. Ath needed a gritty defensive performance to win this one and deny the hosts who tried hard and played decent stuff at times. Skipper Reiss Kingsley got both goals as Ath won their seventh match of the season while Ramblers are now winless in their last five outings.

Finally in Senior One, FC Hamlets achieved a fantastic away win at leaders Snaresbrook, winning 5 – 1. Charlie Heatly, Ishmael Carter, Farron Smith, Ashley King and Tyler Sanago-Ishmael all netted while Tyriquee Solomon got a consolation for the hosts, who fell to their first defeat of the season.
EOFL Snr Div Two
In Senior Division Two, there was a real goal-fest. First, Lakeside heavily defeated Upminster 7 – 0. Luke Quinton bagged five of those goals with further strikes from Harry Hearn and Drew Klessa-Smith sealing a fab day for the hosts.
Elsewhere, Harold Wood Athletic Reserves won 3 – 2 at Newham Utd. Perry Robinson, Paul Virdi and Chris Pope all struck to seal a good win for Ath’s second side. Rochford Town got the win of the day with a huge 12 – 0 success at home to May & Baker ‘A’. . David Watson led the scoring with four, Ashley Fowles struck a hat-trick while Daniel Bathurst, Grant Lye, Christopher Haycock, Jake Lunn and Tyler Fowles also netted to extend what is a harrowing losing run for the visitors.
Toby also won 4 – 0 at home to Ryan with David Major having a big say in this result with a hat-trick plus Des Gallen also notching.
EOFL Snr Div Three
In Senior Three, the goal-fest continued as Laindon Orient plundered nine in a 9 – 2 win at home to Basildon Town Ressies. Henry Ballard got a treble while there was also a brace for Samuel Lake plus one each for Jasper Read, Tom Read, Adam Cole and Michael Bottone. Town responded through strikes from Luke Higgins and Alexander Shields though they couldn’t match their hosts’ goal-power.
In other matches, Leigh Town secured a 6 – 2 home win over White Ensign Res. Rhys Mosedale’s brace was added to by George Darby, Sam Gillmore, Oliver Raker and Adam Smith. Ensign pulled two back thanks to Adam Skinner and Efrem Nuguse though the day belonged to Leigh. Roydon won 3 – 2 at Wakering Sports thanks to a fine comeback. Ryan Curtis and Aaron Marshall put Wakering ahead though Micky Coppin, Ezra Folan and Nader Benzid turned the tide and saw the visitors to the win.
Finally, Westhamians battled to a 1 – 0 home win over Hutton Reserves thanks to Max Holt’s solitary strike, which keeps them six points clear top of the table.
