Hello and welcome to my round-up of Essex Olympian Lge action from this last weekend, tracking the action from the top-four tiers. Thanks for reading.

EOFL Premier Division

We begin the Premier Division round-up with Bishop’s Stortford Swifts 2 – 1 success over Canning Town. The hosts had Ade Cole and Joe McEvoy to thank for their goals while Abdul Shobawale got one back for Town.

Elsewhere, Buckhurst Hill made it six wins from six matches with a 3 – 1 home win over Hutton. Sonny Shilling got another brace to add to his growing goal tally, while Nathan Sollosi got the other goal for Hill. Hutton’s strike came courtesy of Will Marlow.

Meanwhile, Harold Wood Athletic defeated Rayleigh Town 2 – 1 as goals from John Bradley and Joe Stevens ensured their side’s 5th win of the season. Jack Long got Rayleigh’s goal as they fell to only their second defeat this term. Kelvedon Hatch added to Catholic Utd’s poor start to the season as Hatch secured a 3 – 1 victory over the ‘Super Hoops’ through strikes from Mike Daniels, Alan Taylor and Theo Ola. This was Hatch’s fourth straight league victory.

Leigh Ramblers beat Sungate 3 – 1 thanks to a brace from Jay Nash and one from Ronnie Bridges. Reece Simpson got the goal for the visitors though they fell to their third loss in five games thus far. Nico Debouchet’s hat-trick assisted Old Southendian to a 4 – 0 home win over strugglers Manford Way with Ruari McIntyre grabbing the other goal. Manford have lost all six of their league matches now while OS got their first league win of the campaign here.

Finally in the top-tier, Springfield were held 3 – 3 at home to Great Baddow. Chris Bryan, Ryan Batchford and Zach Davidson goals were cancelled out by strikes from John Baxter, Daniel Booty and Nav Arain as Baddow extended their unbeaten stretch to three matches.

EOFL Senior Division One

In Senior Division One, there was a goal glut with 29 goals struck in 6 matches. Galleywood powered past Frenford Reserves 7 – 1 thanks to a treble from Thomas Watling plus additional strikes from Matthew Buckingham, Luke Osborne, Jack Chatterway and Lewis Rose. Snaresbrook were also among the goals as they roared past Herongate Athletic 6 – 1 with six different scorers – Mitchell Collymore, Harry Price, Ryan Barker-Francis, Drew Barbier, Max Caterhall and Tyrique Solomon all notching here to give their side their third straight win thus far.

Meanwhile, Basildon Town’s impeccable league start was ended by FC Hamlets as the latter won 2 – 1 with Pa Jagne and Jaemar Lawes strikes outdoing a goal by home forward Alfie Phillips. Ramsden Scotia got their second league win with a 5 – 2 home success over Ongar Town with Steve Paoletti’s double aided by strikes from  Anthony Driscoll, Ryan Leddra and Lewis Godbold. James Stevens and Paul Tiffen responded for Ongar though they succumbed to defeat here.

Elsewhere in the division, Rayleigh Town Reserves were held at home 1 – 1 by Old Chelmsfordians while Shenfield AFC and May & Baker Reserves also played out a 1 – 1 draw.

EOFL Senior Division Two

Next, in Senior Division Two, six more matches provided a whopping 39 goals. Shoebury Town continued their super goal-scoring record with an 8 – 1 thumping of Newham Utd. Hat-tricks from Scott Clark and Dom Binns set the tone with further goals coming from Shaun Illett and Dan Regan sealing a big win though Kaci Henry’s strike for Newham ensured no clean sheet for the hosts.

May & Baker ‘A’ continued their poor run with a 7 – 2 home loss to Beacon Hill Rovers as a Tyson Browning hat-trick plus a brace from Charlie Brewer and one each for Will Simpson and Rene Bearman secured the points for Rovers. Elsewhere, Toby had cause to celebrate with a 6 – 2 triumph at home to Lakeside as goals from John Turner, Justin Clarke, Ross Dipple, Dan Cunningham, Peter Spicer and Nick Harvey seeing them to a big win.

Eric Kelly’s hat-trick inspired Chingford Athletic to a narrow 4 – 3 win at Upminster with Tayo Olasanoye also notching for Chingford. Upminster hit back through goals from Jamie Lakey, Warren Taylor and Daniel Peermamode but it wasn’t enough to snatch a point.

Also, Runwell Sports defeated Harold Wood Athletic’s Ressies 3 – 0 thanks to a double from Charlie Adams and one from Declan Clarke while Ryan also won 3 – 0 at home to Rochford Town.

EOFL Senior Division Three

In EOFL Division Three, three matches still saw 11 goals scored. Westhamians remain top of the standings thanks to a 3 – 1 win over Leigh Town. Jean Gomes, Danny Dobson and Anthony DaSilva strikes sealed their victory while Academy Soccer won 4 – 0 at home to Basildon Town Reserves. A double from Louis Mansell and strikes by Luke Jones and Alex Mansell saw them home and finally, strikes from Tyrese Fairmainer and Owen Linford helped Old Chelmsfordians Reserves to a 2 – 1 success over Wakering Sports with Lee Price getting their consolation effort.

In Senior Division Four, there were wins for Dagenham Utd, Galleywood Reserves and Canning Town’s Ressie side.

This blog is centred on all things Non-League Football, mainly Match Reports of matches I've seen (mainly Essex Senior League (ESL) but also other Leagues) though it also houses the regular round-up's of the ESL action plus the Essex Olympian League divisions regularly. It also has the odd post about the scary world that we're all in, talking from a Mental Health perspective. Thank you for reading.
