Hello and welcome to a one-off combined ‘one-stop shop’ for all the Bostik League action this weekend, reduced due to the FA Cup action.

First up we have our Bostik North round-up, followed by results in Bostik Premier, Bostik South Central and Bostik South East divisions. Enjoy.

Bostik Division North  –  Saturday 22nd September

Barking   1 – 2   Maldon & Tiptree  | Mayesbrook Park  | Att: 57

The Jammers did the business thanks to a goal on each half. Shane Cojocarel’s 5th-minute strike kept up his good scoring form. George Sykes made it two [58′] before substitute Jack McQueen halved the arrears for the home side though the visitors took the points here, their 4th win this term.

Canvey Island   2 – 2   Brentwood Town  | Park Lane  | Att: 213

A crazy end to this match saw it end honours-even at Park Lane. Jordan Cox put the Islanders ahead three minutes before the break. That lead didn’t last long as Tony Stoke levelled [47′] against his former club. The Blues may have thought it was their day as Albert Levett’s 90th-minute spot-kick put them ahead though Cox had the final word deep in added-time to share the spoils.

Felixstowe & Walton Utd   2 – 1  Romford  |  Dellwood Avenue | Att: 261

Felixstowe rose to claim the points at Dellwood Avenue. Miles Pwell [13′] and Jack Ainsley [32′] goals put the hosts in a good place though Taylor Tombides’ goal six minutes before half-time kept Paul Martin’s side in it though they were unable to build on that so fell to their second loss of the season.

Grays Athletic  1 – 1  Mildenhall Town  | Parkside (3G) | Att: 215

Grays were held to a draw here at Parkside. Michael Mignot popped up again to put Ath ahead on 28 minutes though new signing Panayiotis Boxer’s equaliser eight minutes from time saved a point for the Hall, who are still to register a win this term.

Soham Town Rangers  0 – 1  Aveley  |  Julius Martin Lane | Att: 123

The Millers secured a good three points at struggling Soham thanks to Andy Freeman’s solitary goal seven minutes before half-time. Soham couldn’t recover and succumbed to their fifth league loss in six. Aveley have won four of their six league matches.

Witham Town   3 – 5   Basildon Utd  |  Gardiners Close | Att: 98

This thriller saw the Bees come awa with the victory at Spa Road. George Powell put the hosts ahead on 21 minutes though Reece Placid levelled only three minutes later for Marc Harrison’s side. Sam Ashford struck from the spot [31′] to put Witham 2 – 1 up though Eljay Worrell’s own penalty made it 2 – 2 at the break. Joe Turpin gave the visitors the lead on 53 minutes though Ashford again netted fron the spot [62’2 to tie things up. Enter stage right from the bench, ex-Redbridge striker Brian Moses who grabbed a brace [73′ & 82′] to settle a pulsating contest.

This blog is centred on all things Non-League Football, mainly Match Reports of matches I've seen (mainly Essex Senior League (ESL) but also other Leagues) though it also houses the regular round-up's of the ESL action plus the Essex Olympian League divisions regularly. It also has the odd post about the scary world that we're all in, talking from a Mental Health perspective. Thank you for reading.
