Essex Senior League
Saturday 15th September
Hullbridge Sports 1 – 1 Walthamstow | Lower Road | Att: 76
Hullbridge denied ‘Stow an important victory with a second-half leveller at Lower Road. In first-half added-time, James Peagram struck to give Ryan Maxwell a slightly better team talk at the interval. Sports recovered and ended up with a point thanks to Jimmy Cox’s goal on 58 minutes. Darren Manning’s side stay top of the table at this early stage.
Redbridge 1 – 4 Ilford | Oakside | Att: 48
The Foxes sent the Motormen careering off to the first league loss with this surprise win at Oakside. Jamal Dzotsi put the visitors ahead on 31 minutes before the opening 10 of the second half sealed the contest. Yemi Adelani [49′] continued his good scoring run this term and Yasseir Nazor netted six minutes later to leave Martin Haywood’s side in a super position. Ex-Ilford defender Sam Balfour pulled one back for the hosts late on before Adelani got his second of the afternoon in the dying minutes to seal a great day for the visitors.
Tower Hamlets 1 – 2 Stansted | Mile End Stadium | Att: 50
Finally in the ESL action, Stansted completed a good win at Mile End. Callum Ibe struck early [7’] and a Paul Clayton goal followed on 20 minutes to leave the Airportmen in a good position at half-time.
