Aveley 3 – 0 Canvey Island

Aveley secured a big win to leave Canvey’s promotion chances fading in the wind. Myles Keizer-Burrows [30′] and Tom Richardson [41′] goals gave the initative to the hosts in the second of two games at Parkside. Calvin Ekpiteta’s late third sealed the Millers’ 3rd win in their last six matches sees them rise to 15th. Canvey’s fourth defeat in their last eight matches sees them remain 4th though they also are nine points behind the top two.

Brentwood Town 1 – 6 AFC Hornchurch

The double-header at Parkside began with a big win for champions-elect Hornchurch over Brentwood. The Urchins were two goals ahead early on as Tobi Joseph [3′] and Nathan Cooper [5′] struck. George Purcell made it three on 21 minutes before Christian Assombalonga’s hat-trick [35′, 61′ & 83′] added to Brentwood’s pain before Brenden Cavalier’s late consolation. Town fell to their fourth loss in their last eight outings and they remain 21st, nine points above the bottom spot. Hornchurch’s 3rd win in their last six matches means they are three wins away from the title.

Potters Bar secured another important victory to move into the promotion places. A brace from Sandro Costa Dias Fernandes [24′ & 45′] gave the Scholars the advantage. Ben Ward-Cochrane made it three five minutes after the restart. Jordon Watson’s spot-kick [67′] put the hosts back in the match though Eoin Casey’s strike 11 minutes from time sealed the visitors’ 7th win in their last nine outings. Ware’s 2nd loss in their last seven sees them stay 20th.
