Saturday 14th October
The FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round (South side A- Z)
Aldershot Town 1 – 0 Torquay Utd
Venue: The EBB Stadium | Attendance: 1,583
Aldershot narrowly saw their way past Torquay to claim a place in the next round. Scott Rendell got the only goal with 11 minutes remaining to see Gary Waddock’s side through at the expense of their fellow National League Premier opponents.
Bath City 0 – 0 Chelmsford City
Venue: Twerton Park | Attendance: 878
Chelmsford held firm to take this tie to a replay at Melbourne Park in midweek. Both the Romans and the Clarets will go into the First Round draw though the two National League South sides will undergo a replay in midweek.
Brackley Town 3 – 3 Billericay Town
Venue: St. James Park | Attendance: 731
Ten-man Brackley struck late to deny Billericay an outright place in the next round at the first time of asking. Aaron Williams put the Saints ahead after just two minutes and that lead stood at half-time. The same couldn’t be said for the hosts keeping their full complement of players on-the-pitch though as Alex Gudger was dismissed just before the interval. Billericay responded after the break and levelled through Adam Cunnington two minutes after the break. Substitute Louis Theophanous gave ‘Ricay the lead on 72 minutes though that lead only lasted four minutes before Adam Walker restored parity for the National League North side. Cunnington snared his second of the afternoon on 78 minutes as the visitors re-took the lead though Brackley levelled once again right on the stroke of full-time as Shane Byrne struck to send the tie to a replay at New Lodge in midweek.
Burgess Hill Town 0 – 1 Dartford
Venue: Leylands Park | Attendance: 873
National League Premier side Dartford were given a tough afternoon by Isthmian Premier side Burgess Hill though the visitors edged it at Leylands Park. Alfie Pavey’s early goal was enough to seal the Darts’ passage into the next round.
Dagenham & Redbridge 0 – 0 Leyton Orient
Venue: Victoria Road | Attendance: 2,259
Both these National League Premier sides drew a blank at Victoria Road, watched by a healthy crowd of over 2,000 fans. They’ll have to do it all again on Tuesday night at Brisbane Road.
Dover Athletic 0 – 0 Bromley
Venue: Crabble Athletic Ground | Attendance:
There was another stalemate at the Crabble as both these National League Premier sides cancelled each other out and you know what that means… a replay at Hayes Lane in midweek.
East Thurrock Utd 0 – 0 Ebbsfleet Utd
Venue: Rookery Hill | Attendance: 669
National League South side East Thurrock held draw-specialists Ebbsfleet (they’ve drawn nine of their 15 National League Premier matches so far this season) to a creditable draw at Rookery Hill. Both sides will go forth in a replay in midweek.
Eastleigh 1 – 2 Hereford
Venue: Silverlake Stadium | Attendance: 1,345
Evo-Stik Southern Premier side Hereford upset National League Premier Eastleigh to advance into the next round. Michael McGrath’s deflected free-kick sent the travelling fans wild with the opener on the quarter-hour. The hosts were a man down on 31 minutes as Andrew Boyce was dismissed.It got even better for the Bulls a minute before half-time as Garyn Preen’s goal doubled the priceless advantage. The Spitfires did improve after the break and Callum Howe halved the deficit with 12 minutes remaining. During an extended amount of injury-time due to a serious injury to Hereford’s Preen, Gavin Hoyte was also sent off to end a not-so-momentous day for the National League Premier hosts though unsurprisingly the same cannot be said for the visitors who endured a nervy end to the match.
Hampton & Richmond Borough 0 – 2 Truro City
Venue: Beveree Stadium | Attendance: 784
The White Tigers sealed their place in the next round with this good performance against fellow National League South side Hampton & Richmond at the Beveree Stadium. Both goals came after the break as Noah Keats [60’ & 89’] did the business for Lee Hodges’s team as they became the first Cornish side to reach the First Round Proper in 48 years {Credit to Tony Incenzo for that particular statistic].
Haringey Borough 2 – 4 Heybridge Swifts
Venue: Coles Park | Attendance: 401
This much-anticipated all-Isthmian North tie certainly lived up to its billing.. and then some as Swifts emerged with the win and earmarked their place in the next round. Lawrence Yiga’s OG on 14 minutes gave Jody Brown’s side the lead and that narrow led lasted until after half-time. Haringey levelled 12 minutes after the break through hot-shot Ralston Gabriel. A three-goal burst from Sam Bantick [65’] and Luke Callander’s brace [pen 69’ & 73’] put the visitors in a very strong position. Borough weren’t finished though as Ruaridh Kay pulled another goal back three minutes from the end though it’s Heybridge who proudly take their place in the next round
Maidenhead Utd 2 – 1 Havant & Waterlooville
Venue: York Road | Attendance: 753
National Premier side Maidenhead struck late to seal their progress to the next round. Sam Barratt handed the hosts the lead on 23 minutes as Alan Devonshire’s side led at the break. The Hawks levelled five minutes after the re-start as Jason Prior struck. There was late drama though as Ryan Upward sent the Magpies jumping for joy though the visitors can be proud of their performance.

Maidstone Utd 2 – 2 Enfield Town
Venue: Gallagher Stadium | Attendance: 1,495
Maidstone denied Enfield a famous win by striking late-on at the Gallagher Stadium. The Isthmian Premier side took the lead on 20 minutes in through Simon Thomas’s goal. Ex-Dagenham winger Zavon Hines missed a penalty late in the first half though the hosts did level the tie in first-half stoppage time through Alex Wynter. The visitors got a spot-kick of their own and Darren Purse [57’] did convert as the Towners led for the second time. Joe Piggott struck [90’] to avert the exit door for Jay Saunders’ side. The two sides will do battle again in midweek.
Margate 1 – 2 Leatherhead
Venue: Hartsdown Park | Attendance: 879
Leatherhead overcame fellow Isthmian Premier side Margate in a exciting finale at Hartsdown Park. Player-manager Sammy Moore put his side ahead with 15 minutes to play before fellow ex-pro Jack Midson made it two ten minutes afterward. Substitute Harry Stannard [89’] pulled one back for Steve Watt’s side three minutes after coming on though it’s the Tanners who made their way into the draw for the next round.
Oxford City 1 – 0 Bognor Regis Town
Venue: Marsh Lane | Attendance: 406
City edged this encounter to make it into the next round. Matthew Paterson got the only goal of the match on 32 minutes though it could have been more comfortable though Paterson fluffed his lines from a spot-kick. Bognor had to play the last 13 minutes a man light as Calvin Davies was dismissed for a second bookable offence. City held on to triumph over their fellow National League side here.
Paulton Rovers 2 – 3 Sutton Utd
Venue: Winterfield Road | Attendance: 601
Sutton got the win though had a real hum-dinger of a contest at Winterfield Road. Kieron Cadogan put the visitors ahead on ten minutes though Rovers levelled seven minutes later through captain Josh Ford’s strike. The stalemate lasted until just after the break when a two-goal salvo from Cadogan [49’] and Louis John appeared to break the hosts’ resistance. Not so though as substitute Dave Sims’s goal 14 minutes from time ensured a nervy finish for the National League Premier side.
Slough Town 1 – 0 Folkestone Invicta
Venue: Arbour Park | Attendance: 926
Southern League Premier side Slough fellow Step 3 side Invicta to claim a good win at Arbour Park. The Rebels led after only four minutes through Warren Harris’s goal. The visitors couldn’t create too many opportunities and saw Kieron McCann dismissed with nine minutes to go as the hosts went through.
St Albans City 1 – 3 Boreham Wood
Venue: Clarence Park | Attendance: 1,418
National League Premier side Boreham Wood saw off the challenge of their National League South opponents at Clarence Park in the match that was also streamed online by the BBC. Bruno Andrade gave Luke Garrard’s side the lead from the spot on 13 minutes. Wood received a boost before the break as Shaun Jeffers made it two five minutes before half-time. Andrade got his brace four minutes after the interval to all but seal the visitors’ progression. Zane Banton [66’] slotted home to pull one back though it wasn’t enough to stop Wood from prevailing here.
Woking 1 – 1 Concord Rangers
Venue: Kingfield | Attendance: 1,004
Woking were denied by a tough Concord side at Kingfield. Steve Cawley put the National League South side ahead on 25 minutes with a cracker. The visitors frustrated the Cards for long periods though the hosts did ensure a replay as substitute Jamie Philpott struck with three minutes of normal time remaining.
